If it s chromoly then i just have to replace a couple of struts and add more to my roll cage to bring it to specs.
As for the price it depends on who build the cage for you.

Grinding and plating of the welds is prohibited so keep these points in mind if you re a do it yourselfer.

My hp book on metal working and fabrication said its not good to use chromoly for making roll cages as when its involved in an impact it can break off into a sharp point.
X 118 mild steel or 083 4130 chromoly tubing so this is another aspect to take into play when building or expanding a roll cage as your vehicle gets faster.
The tubing size requirement on 8 50 cages are 1 5 8 inch x 118 inch mild steel or 083 inch chromoly.

The chromium adds strength hardenability and a level of corrosion resistance to mild carbon steel though chromoly is not as corrosion resistant as stainless steel.

If the budget allows it and there is time cline always prefers to tig weld a cage.
I bought a mild steel 10 point cage from s w racecars.
This would be in a 2nd about bolt in cages weld in cages roll on another forum the question of cost and weight came up over a chromoly rollcage vs.
They said it was about 40 lbs.
That s not alot in my opinion.
